T-Mobile Prepaid Cell Phones Review



T-Mobile is based out of Bellevue, Washington and was formerly known as Voicestream Wireless. T-mobile was the first international communications company, which offers service to both the US and Europe.

Starter kits can be purchased which includes phone, basic accessories, and starter minutes. T-mobile offers two levels of service for their customers, which are the Gold Reward and the Gold levels, which are distinguished by the amount your spend.

Once you spend $100 on any refills, then you reach Gold level pricing.  Then if you purchase 1,000 minutes with 360 day access with a $100 card, then you automatically become a Gold Rewards member.

T-mobile offers four different plans with their Basic plan being divided into four separate tiers.  The first tier is a $10 card for 30 minutes that has a 30 day access.  The second tier is a $25 card for 130 minutes and the third tier is a $50 card for 400 minutes, which both has a 90 day access time.

The forth tier is a $100 card for 1000 minutes with a year access.

Once you purchase a $100 in refills you automatically advance to the Gold Reward plan and then get 15% more minutes with the purchase of each card.  There is a $1 per day access fee for each day used. 

Also provided with this plan is unlimited night minutes that begin at 7 p.m. and unlimited mobile to mobile calls, then all other calls are .10 cents per minute.  With the FlexPay plan there is an option of signing a contract, which makes you entitled to a handset. 

The Sidekick plan offered by T-mobile has a $1 per day access fee on the days the phone is used. 

This plan also offers unlimited text messaging, email, web browsing, and all calls are .15 cents per minute.  

With T-mobile there is no activation fee, no credit check, and no contract except with the FlexPay plan. 

Text messaging is available for .10 cents to send and only .05 cents to receive, but is not included with the Sidekick plan. 

Picture messaging is free to receive then only .25 cents per message to be able to send. 

Prices vary according to purchase and phone but start at $1.49 for downloads, which include ringtones, games, wallpaper, and applications. 

T-mobile offers call waiting, voicemail, caller ID, and 3 way calling, but airtime rates do apply. 

There is a charge of $1.49 for directory assistance calls and emergency assistance call are available also. 

There is a $1 charge per day with the Sidekick plan and free email addresses are provided.

There are no roaming charges with T-mobile and international call rates are based upon the destination of the call, but they begin at .30 cents per minute plus airtime charges. 

Nationwide calls are treated as regular call with all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii. 

There are a variety of phones which are compatible with T-mobile that include the Samsung t429,  Samsung Trace, Motorola V195, Nokia 2610,Samsung SGH-X495, Nokia 3390, Nokia 3595, Motorola V66, and the Samsung Black Stripe. 

With the T-mobile plans come some of the latest technological phones available with select phones coming with free $25 refill cards.  These phones start at $29.99 and go up to $99.99 after mail-in rebates.
