AT&T Prepaid Cell Phones Review



AT&T has made pay as you go simple and easy, by paying in advance with one of their two prepaid plans, which now provides unlimited calling to 52 million customers.

AT&T offers their customers to carry unused funds over to the next month, which is called a Rollover® Balance™ that only they provide.

Their Pay As You Go Plan offers unlimited mobile to mobile calls with anytime minutes costing only .10 cents per minute, but there is a $1 daily access fee just for using your phone that is charged every day you use it, so you could end up paying them $31 per month to use your phone.

Another option with the Pay As You Go Plan is to purchase 3, 000 off-peak minutes for an additional $20. 

There are four tiers under Pick Your Plan that range from $29.99 per month that gives 200 minutes to $69.99 per month with 650 minutes.  The top two tiers in this plan both offer the cusomter unlimited nights and weekends. 

AT&T also offers one other plan that they do not advertise called the Simple Plan where the minutes are used anytime for the price of .25 cents a minute, with no daily access fee.

With the card purchase of minutes the determining factor of when these minutes expire greatly depends on the denomination of the card. 

The $15 card expires in 30 days, while the $25, $50, and $75 cards expire in 90 days, and the $100 card does not expire for 365 days.  With AT&T there is no activation fee, no contracts to have to worry with, and no credit checks either.

Text messaging packages can be purchased or the messages can be paid for individually for .15 cents for each message incoming or outgoing.  The text message packages available cost $5 per month for 200 text messages incoming or outgoing or $20 per month for 3,000 text messages incoming or outgoing. 

AT&T offers customers international text messaging for .20 cents outgoing messages and .10 cents incoming messages.  A picture or audio message can be sent for the price of .01 cent per kilobyte.
 
Downloads start at $1.99 for ringtones, games, graphics, and many more.  Calling features including with some of their phones include caller ID, voicemail, call waiting, call forwarding, and 3 way calling.  Directory assistance is available for $1.79 each call plus airtime and emergency assistance calls are free.  AT&T has placed their web access into plans, which will save you money if you like to browse the web a lot. 

These two plans cost either $15 or $20 per month depending on the access.    

There are no roaming charges within the nationwide service area and nationwide calls are considered regular calls if made within the national service area.  International call start at .10 cents per minutes, but if you make frequent international calls and need low rates, then AT&T offer $3.99 World Connect Plan.

There are a variety of phones compatible with AT&T, which are the Motorola C139, Nokia 6102i, Pantech C120, Sony Ericsson z300a, Motorola RAZR V3, Nokia 6030, Nokia 3120, Nokia 6010, and the Samsung C207. 

Most of AT&T's phones start out at $19.99 after mail in rebates with camera and flip phones also being available. 

A customer of AT&T can easily track their minute usage by text messages provided by AT&T with an updated balance after each call. Now that is customer satisfaction.
